FREE HEARSE SERVICES in Tamil Nadu
- On 26th February 2011, Government of Tamil Nadu have established Free Hearse Service in the State on Public Private Partnership (PPP).
- Call Center Number 155377 (24X7 Service).
- Provide free (Hearse) Mortuary Van Services to the patients who die in Government Medical Institutions in Tamil Nadu.
- Currently 220 vehicles are in operation covering 38 districts covering all Government Medical Institutions.
- This service is also rendered 100% support during major accidents, nature calamities and disaster for transporting the deceased to the Government Hospitals for autopsy and then to their destination.
- Our service is also initiated for transportation of cases through Railways from Chennai to long distant places throughout India (more than 300 KM)
- NRI cases also transported.
- unknown bodies from the Government Hospitals to burial ground were transported at the request of these Government Hospitals and the Police Authorities since there were no claimants of these dead bodies
- Now our services are also included for transportation of cases from the death spot (MLC) to Hospitals for postmortem with the help of crime report received from the Police Department.
- Permitted to utilize the free Hearse Services for the deceased who dies in Adyar Cancer Institute, Adyar (Women’s India Association), JIPMER, Pondicherry.
- Permitted to transport the deceased from Private institutions those who underwent treatment under CMCHIS.
- Permitted to transport the deceased from Tribal Hospitals in Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore and The Nilgiris.
