- Jane Huyghen Van Linschoten was the first Dutch sailor who took expedition in 1595 to South East Asia.

- In 1800 the company was abolished by Dutch government and new company established in the name of “Dutch East Indies”.
- Later they concentrated only on East Asia known as “Spicy Islands”.
