Discuss the Poverty eradication programmes implemented in India

Integrated Child Development Services.

  • It aims of providing pre-school non-formal education
  • Launched in 1975
  • Breaking the vicious cycle of malnutrition, morbidity, reduced learning capacity and mortality on the other.

Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP):

  • Introduced in 1978-79.
  • On 1999, the IRDP and allied programmes were merged into a single programme known as Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY).
  • SGSY- Organizing the rural poor into self-help groups. capacity building, planning of activity clusters, and infrastructure support. technology, credit marketing linkages.

MP Local Area Development Programme:

  • Launched in December 1993 as a central sector scheme.
  • Enable Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to execute developmental projects and satisfy the local needs within the guidelines

Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana

  • Launched in 2000 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme to assist States for poverty reduction.
  • Objective-Provide good all-weather connectivity to all eligible unconnected habitations.
  • Enhance opportunities for employment in the non-farmi sector and facilitate setting up of shops and small businesses

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) 2005:

  • The Act provides 100 days of assured employment every year to every rural household.
  • One-third of the proposed jobs would be reserved for women.

National Rural Livelihood Mission: Ajeevika (2011)

  • Skill and placement initiative of Ministry of Rural development.
  • Diversify the needs of the rural poor and provide them jobs with regular income on monthly basis.
  • Self Help groups are formed at the village level to help the needy. -. National Urban Livelihoods Mission
  • Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation has launched it in the 12th Five-Year Plan in 2013.
  • Organizing urban poor in Self Help Groups, creating opportunities for skill development

The National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013:

  • 75% of the rural, 50% of the urban population receives subsidized food grains under the Targeted PDS.ublic scheme)

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna:

  • To provide skill training to 1.4 million youth with an overall outlay of Rs. 1120 crore.
  • Launched in 2015
  • This plan is implemented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through the Corporation.

Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Housing for all Skill National Development

  • PMAY was launched in June 2015 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA)

Housing for All by 2022

  • Aims to transform slum areas by building homes for slum dwellers
  • It will extend direct financial assistance of 1.5 lakh to EWS.

JAM – JanDhan-Aadhaar – Mobile

  • Mobile trinity which contributed to substantial advances in financial inclusion.
